An airy, 4-floor art collector’s pad in Estrela.
Paris-meets-Lisbon with tall windows, light-filled living areas and a rare-gem of garden decked with BBQ and a small swimming-pool.
A mosaic-tiled house sat right next to the Jardim da Estrela in prime central Lisbon, 10-minutes drive to Avenida da Liberdade, Chiado and Bairro Alto.
Filled with funky art and sculptures, the house unwraps from the entrance and up to the skylight at the top, curiosity driving the leap up each step to uncover the floors above.
A double-size living and dining room decked with colours and paintings, two double-trouble lounging sofas facing the flat-screen television, and a large dining table to very comfortably fit 8 people, guarded by the red house-dog in the corner.
French windows leading to the outdoor terrace, a garden table set for 8 with a parasol for shade during those hot summer days where the pool below will soon become your best friend outside of fan-cooled rooms.
The kitchen is family-sized with a wall-size blackboard to chalk-talk, a large fridge that can be filled for your arrival upon request and a kitchen bar-table for two, should a laptop & coffee moment be in need. Usually, the dining room and terrace will be the most frequented, although you are in Lisbon...there is no shortage of restaurants in this city (when you can bear to leave the nest).
1st Floor: Up the stairs, you have the two larger en-suite bedrooms; The master ensuite with its
entertainingly placed bicycle machine in the bathroom - for those of you who wish to cycle off the large dinner from the night before.
The guest bedroom, similar in size to the master with its own ensuite, is across the foyer. Both bedrooms are
ideal for couples.
2nd Floor: Up another flight of stairs, you have the two children’s bedrooms, both sharing a dark stone bathroom, and mediated by an oversized Mickey Mouse on the landing - depending on his mood, either clothed, or not. The first bedroom has a large sized single, ideal for one, and has the winning views from the window, looking out across the city to the river in the near distance. The second bedroom is slightly larger, with two single beds and is ideal for children. Both are filled with colourful pop art; the children of an art collector.
Lower-Ground Floor: Here is the guest loo, and another two bedrooms.
The first bedroom is a large double room with french windows directly into the garden. Shaded by the
green outside, the room is calm and cool, perfect for a couple with its own bathroom.
The single room next door with its own ensuite is ideal for a nanny.
The Garden: A rare gem in the centre of the city. A beautiful leafy garden with its own private pool, albeit
not ideal for swimming lengths, it’s a small slice of paradise for hot summer days to dip in and out with
deck chairs beside the water and a BBQ on the terrace.
